Legal Requirement

When Completing the course learners will have knowledge and application skills in basic demonstrating first aid, and be able to apply them to the workplace.

Importance of quick response in internal and external injuries
Importance of quick response for medical emergencies
Basic first aid management
Respiratory, nervous and skeletal system

Assumed Skills and Knowledge

Learners are assumed to possess the following set of attitudes, skills and knowledge

Learners must be above 18 years of age
Minimum WPLN Level 3
Be able to follow written and oral work instructions

Requirements to be a trainer and assessor for this course

Domain qualification: The trainer/assessor must be a domain subject matter expert, possess a WSQ-Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health (WSH Professional Level B)
Domain work experience: The trainer/assessor must possess a minimum of five years’ relevant experience in subject matter.
WSQ trainer/assessor pedagogic requirement: The trainer/assessor must have attained a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training & Assessment (ACTA) or Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) or Diploma in Adult Continuing Education (DACE) or Diploma in Design and Development of Learning for Performance (DDDLP).
WSQ trainer/assessor experience: The trainer/assessor should preferably possess a minimum of one year of training experience.
All adult educators are required to attain 10 hours (minimum) annually by attending Continuing Professional and Development (CPD) courses conducted by appointed training providers.

The trainer for the course is not permitted to be the assessor for the same course learners during the assessment.
