The Shipyard Safety Instruction Course for Workers (Hot-Work Trade) is a Workplace Safety Health training course for all workers working in the shipbuilding and ship repairing industry.

Course Outline

Introduction to Shipyard Safety Instruction Course for Workers (Hot-Work Trade).
Know the different types of Hot-work.
Know characteristics of flammable substances.
Understand how vapours/ gases can accumulate in confined spaces.
Understand how fires/explosions are caused.
Understand case studies on two shipyard fire and explosion accidents.
Know and take safety measures for preventing fire/ explosions.

This course is designed for all workers working in the shipbuilding and ship repairing industry

Assumed Skills and Knowledge

Learners must be above 18 years of age and are assumed to:

Employability Skills (ES) Workplace Literacy level 3 and above.
Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES level 3; and
Participants must have attended and passed the WSQ Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Shipyard (General Trade).

Trainer to Learner ratio for theory sessions: 1:40
Trainer to Learner ratio for written assessment: 1:40

Attendance

Attendance Requirements: 100% for classroom and practical sessions

Certification

Based on the successful completion of the course and assessment, a certificate of achievement endorsed by EuroSAFE Associates Pte Ltd will be awarded to the trainee.
