SAFETY ORIENTATION COURSE (TUNNELING) FOR WORKERS (SOC(T))

Legal Requirement

Under the Factories (Safety Training Courses) Order 2001 which came into effect in June 2001, all workers, including Singaporeans, must undergo a Safety Orientation Course (Tunnelling) before they are allowed to work in Tunnels.

Target Audience

  • Workers must have completed and passed AWSHCS/CSOC-RC to be eligible to attend this course.
  • Learners must be above 18 years of age
  • Minimum WPLN Level 2
  • Be able to follow written and oral work instructions

Requirements to be a trainer and assessor for this course

  • Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health or Specialist Diploma in WSH.
  • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience as a supervisor / foreman / safety personnel in the construction industry.
  • Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) or Diploma in Adult Continuing Education (DACE) or Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) or Diploma in Design and Development of Learning for Performance (DDDLP).
  • All adult educators are required to attain 10 hours (minimum) annually by attending Continuing Professional and Development (CPD) courses conducted by appointed training providers.
  • The trainer for the course is not permitted to be the assessor for the same course learners during the assessment.
